How to Be Saved

Welcome. You are listening to a website with the message: All you need to do to be saved is believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior.

These pages are designed especially for visitors using screen readers. If you reached this page in error, use your back button to return.

On this website, we explain how to become saved. It is not possible to work your way to heaven, no matter how good you try to be. Jesus has already done all the work by dying on the cross.

If you already understand what it means to believe in Jesus as your Savior, you can do that right now. You might say:

“I believe in You, Jesus. I welcome You as my Savior. Please come into my life and make Yourself real to me.”

If you are unsure, the content below will help.

First Topic: What Does It Mean to Get Saved?

This section takes about 4 to 6 minutes.

The phrase “get saved” refers to several important things. One of the most well-known is the promise of life after death in heaven—a place of peace, love, and meaning.

But being saved is much more than that. It begins immediately when you believe in Jesus.

God frees us from burdens like guilt, shame, loneliness, and hopelessness. He also guides us away from harmful choices and toward a better life.

Salvation is not only something we are saved from—it is also something we are saved into: a new relationship with Jesus.

We become part of God's family, spiritually adopted as His children. This brings growth, purpose, and transformation over time.

Heaven is also described as God’s Kingdom—His loving rule. When we are saved, that Kingdom begins to work in our lives even now.

These experiences may come gradually, but they are real and meaningful.

The Bible describes “times of refreshing” that come from God’s presence. These are moments of peace, clarity, and spiritual renewal.

Even when feelings are not strong, faith remains the foundation. Salvation does not depend on feelings—it depends on belief.

You can come to God honestly—with joy, pain, or need. Just be real with Him.

Next Topic: What Does It Mean to Believe?

This section takes about 4 to 6 minutes.

Short Answer

To “believe” is to put faith into action.

Faith is trusting something to be true even when it is not fully proven. When we place that trust in Jesus, we experience its reality.

Long Answer

Believing in Jesus as Savior is a one-time decision that leads to ongoing faith throughout life.

Faith is something we already use daily—like trusting a chair to hold us up. In the same way, we trust Jesus.

Faith grows stronger as we practice it. The power behind it is God’s, not ours.

Faith involves risk—but so does everything in life. Choosing to believe in Jesus is a risk worth taking.

To believe in Jesus also means accepting truth about who He is—His resurrection, His authority, and His identity as Savior.

Believing in Jesus is personal. It is like saying to a friend, “I believe in you.”

Other phrases mean the same thing: receiving Jesus, trusting Him, or accepting Him.

A true believer may struggle, but faith is not lost—it can always be renewed.

God understands our struggles and welcomes us back with compassion.

Simply saying, “I believe in You, Jesus,” is powerful and meaningful.

Believe. Exercise faith. Rejoice in God's promises.
